Hi, my name is Kelli Crumpton Ketner. I am the General Manager of Gingerbread LittleVersity Inc. I am the daughter of founders Libby and Ronnie Crumpton and have grown up in the childcare business since I was eight years old.
During elementary school, I assisted teachers by reading stories to the children and playing games with them on the playground. During high school, I worked as the afterschool teacher in the winter and as a lifeguard and swim instructor during the summer. I went on to attend North Carolina State University and received my BA in Business Management.
After graduation, I returned to become the director of Gingerbread LittleVersity Uptown for four years. In 1998, Ms. Libby began her retirement and I began my training for the position of general manager of the three centers. My job allows me to visit each center several times a day and be available to the directors, teachers, and parents during operating hours.
Our childcare centers were started and solely owned by my family and have been in operation since 1980. We enjoy a homelike, small town atmosphere of attainability and a desire to treat your child as we want ours treated. Our reputation stands on its own as is exemplified by our now providing care for children of children we have served in the past. I invite you to give our schools a visit.
My name is Linda Stancil and I am thrilled to be part of the Gingerbread family. I started out working with school age children in 1977 in my hometown of Garner. I was only 17 at the time. After spending time with kids, taking them on field trips and just having fun with them, I knew in my heart that was my calling. I was mentored by many teachers in the years to come and finally decided to get my Associates Degree in Education at Wake Technical Community College. I then became a teacher of my own class of four year olds. A few years later I was promoted to Assistant Director then Director. I went back to college at UNC Greensboro and received my Bachelor Degree in Education. I have been a director for over 25 years. In those years I have trained many teachers and assistant directors. I am now proud to be a mentor to someone who made need it in education. I have two beautiful grown daughters that went through childcare with me as they grew up. Now I am the proud Nanna of two handsome grandsons that attend Gingerbread Littleversity. Adam is in the toddler room and Carson is in the four year class. They both love their teachers and it shows. The staff are nurturing and compassionate towards all the children.
Childcare has changed over the years but children never do. In childcare I have worn many hats from driving a van, cooking in the kitchen, teaching a classroom, relieving for lunch breaks, greeting parents and helping an injured child. The list is never ending. That is what makes it so much fun. Your schedule could change daily and there is never a dull moment. We will never become rich as a teacher but the rewards exceed all expectations when it pertains to a child and what I have taught them at the end of the day.
I am very proud to be part of this family business here at Gingerbread Littleversity.
Linda Stancil, Director
