In 1980, Libby Crumpton saw a real need for educational preschool for Fuquay Varina and opened Gingerbread LittleVersity Downtown. Having a background in education and being a public school teacher for 17 years, she was able to develop an educationally sound curriculum for the preschoolers. In 1988, we opened our second center, Gingerbread LittleVersity Uptown. Successfully, we opened our third center, Gingerbread LittleVersity North End, in 1997.
Preschool is a very rewarding and demanding business. We have several hundreds of children who have been very successful in "real school". It is our pleasure now to be serving children of our children. We invite you to become part our family and enjoy the fun way to learn by playing.

Communication between parents, teachers, directors and owners is crucial. We have multiple ways which we communicate daily with our parents. Owners are on site and accessible at Gingerbread LittleVersity everyday. We want to hear your concerns and build relationships with parents in our community. It is important to us that parents are thrilled and are confident with the care they receive. It is our goal to not only keep our parents children but their grandchildren as well. The only way to reach this goal is through open communication and hearing what parents want and need from their childcare facility.
Our directors are generally here on site between 8:30am and 5:30 pm. Please call to check on your child’s health or well being for the day. Parents are also invited to join us on Facebook to keep updated on what is happening right now at Gingerbread LittleVersity.
Our Teachers are the people who are nurturing and teaching your children everyday. Teacher hours vary but there is a communication log in each classroom to leave notes to teachers or teachers to parents. A parent teacher conference can be arranged at a time convenient for the parent. Teachers also send home daily report sheet of your child’s eating, sleep, bathroom and play activities. Any concerns should be brought to your director immediately without hesitation. We will do what is possible to make Gingerbread LittleVersity a wonderful memory in your child’s life.
As parents search for a home away from home safety is a top priority. At Gingerbread LittleVersity we have secured doors that require a personal code to enter the building. Anyone without a code must ring the bell to enter. All of our classrooms have glass windows to allow parents to view their child. We have multiple ways that we track children throughout the day. There is computer check-in and check-out, classroom rolls, and 30 minute headcount sheets. All teachers retain an Emergency Contact notebook in their classroom. All teachers hold CPR and First Aid certifications.
Our facilities each have secured entrances to keep the children in and strangers out. Each classroom is equipped with an observation window so parents may watch teachers interacting with the children. Teachers are CPR, First Aid, and Playground certified. Each employee is subject to in-depth background checks.
We believe the teaching staff at each of our childcare centers is the cornerstone for implementing our mission. Our teachers provide a safe and nurturing environment, promote each child's creativity and positive self image, while administering quality instruction. Our teachers are carefully selected and trained. At the time of hire, each teacher undergoes a criminal background check and extensive orientation. We require all teachers to have an Associates or BS in Early Childhood Education, CPR, First Aid, and continuing education hours. Gingerbread LittleVersity is currently seeking several teachers.
